Bill in Gift Shop

Help run the Arboretum Gift Shop! Volunteering in the gift shop is a great way to support the Washington Park Arboretum--one of the most diverse and important plant collections in North America, displayed among 230 acres of woodlands, wetlands, gardens, and walking trails.

The gift shop is a significant source of revenue for the Arboretum Foundation, which helps fund our arborists, educational programs, and ongoing maintenance. Gift shop volunteers love meeting visitors from around the world and helping them find that special item to take home with them as a memento or gift for the holidays. Duties include cashiering, assisting customers, and a little merchandising. Training is provided.

Time Commitment: Weekday Gift Shop Volunteers are asked to sign-up for at least 7 hours per month (two half-day shifts or one full-day shift), Weekend Only Volunteers are asked for 3.5 hours per month (one half day shift). The Gift Shop is open seven days a week from 10 am - 4 pm. The volunteer shifts are 9:30am - 1pm and 1pm - 4:30pm
We currently have openings on some Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Qualifications: Previous retail experience is a plus, but not required!
