Do you have a caring heart? Are you a good listener? Then become a sexual assault advocate! Sexual violence is an issue that impacts so many in our community.
Advocates respond to calls on our 24-hour crisis hotline and provide emotional support, referrals and information to survivors of sexual assault, their families, and loved ones. They advocate for and assist victims in making contact with agencies and systems such as shelter, law enforcement, medical and social services. They respond to Emergency Room and/or Law Enforcement calls, and support clients through those situations. Other volunteer opportunities include office help, fundraising, community education and helping at events. Advocates are provided with state-mandated 40 hours of training to best equip them to help others.
Other opportunities include office help, community education, grant writing and event staffing/planning.
