Would you drive a mile to save a life?
If you have a few free hours Monday through Friday during the daytime, you can help save a life! Volunteer drivers are needed for the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program in the Ozaukee County WI area. Drivers donate their time and vehicle to take cancer patients to treatment and back home again. They also provide encouragement and support.
Drivers are needed throughout the year. Volunteer drivers must be between the ages of 18-84, must have a current, valid driver's license, access to a safe reliable vehicle, a good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance. Volunteers must also complete a training to help prepare them for their new role. The American Cancer Society maintains specific standards for driver responsibility. The standards help both the patient and the driver be comfortable with the program.
For information on how to volunteer please call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org/drive.
