Teenagers in our community need financial guidance and skills. Too often they are left to learn the hard way about the importance of budgeting, savings, banking and credit.
You can be part of the solution for teens as a volunteer in our Money Sense program. Every year, Money Sense brings hundreds of volunteers from the business community into high school classrooms to lead proven lessons on financial basics that truly make a positive impact on the lives and behaviors of teens.
The lessons are about 90 minutes long and take place in classroom settings (whether at a local high school or community based organization). Students learn through hands-on activities, group discussions, role-play games, and videos. We provide our volunteer instructors with everything they need to be successful in the classroom!
No experience is necessary, but a basic understanding of money management concepts is helpful (how to budget and save, how to manage a checking account, how to using credit responsibly). We will provide the training, curriculum and materials. We encourage professionals from all industries to volunteer. The most important thing is that you are passionate about working with teens!
