Help grow food for preschools! When you volunteer at the Seed to Preschool Neighborhood Farm, the fresh fruits and vegetables you help grow go directly into the lunches and snacks at our preschools for low income families. We grow over 5000 lbs of food every year! Gardening is healthy for you, and improves the health of your community!
Additional Project Information: Be prepared to work outside. You must wear closed toe shoes! Bring a water bottle and wear weather appropriate attire that can get dirty. Dress in layers. We will supply gloves, tools, sunscreen, and materials, but feel free to bring your own favorite tools or gloves as long as you understand you are responsible for keeping track of them. The gardens are located behind Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church at 4510 North River Road, Oceanside. No registration required for individuals or small families. If you plan on bringing more than 5 people, contact Bianca at firstname.lastname@example.org in advance.
Schedule: Every Monday from 9:00AM-12:00AM we focus on harvesting, washing, and packing fruits and vegetables.
We also have additional weekend events from 9:00AM-12:00PM we focus on weeding, replanting, cleaning up the garden and a variety of other projects. The dates for our weekend volunteer events are as follows:
