About LCMC

The Literacy Council of Montgomery County (LCMC) enables adults to transform their lives and enrich our community through English literacy. LCMC teaches adults to read, write and speak English in a vibrant multicultural community where English proficiency is a tool for success.

Located in the vibrant Rockville Town Center, the LCMC offers the Intake Volunteer valuable experience in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Job Description

We are looking for volunteers over the age of 18 to help us once a week for 4 hours proctoring intakes for adult students in the Literacy Council of Montgomery County's Tutoring Program (4-5 students at a time). Tests are conducted at the Literacy Council Office. Volunteers will be trained.

Length of Appointment: 6+ months

Time Commitment: 4+ hours a week

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Support: The Literacy Council will provide all the resources and training.

Age Requirement: 18+

Dress Code: Casual

At LCMC we are fighting generational poverty and under-education in Montgomery County, and together we can do even more!
