AARP Tax-Aide, the nations largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service, is seeking volunteers across the state to help Montana taxpayers who are seeking assistance in preparing and filing their 2015 tax returns. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome; you do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to participate. AARP Tax-Aide provides free personal tax assistance to low and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and over.
Tax counselors receive free tax training and become IRS certified by passing a limited scope IRS exam. Counselors help clients one-on-one at various tax sites as well as assisting the homebound. Other Tax-Aide volunteer opportunities include; greeters at tax sites, as well as communications, technology and administrative coordinators. One might be right for you.
