The Hedonisia book trilogy discusses many of the hot button issues of our day; gender, age, free speech, political correctness, race and social identity.

All the books are in draft form. The ideas and theories in the manuscripts are evolving. They need editing, updates, additional research and rewrites before publication.

Google Commenter. All the book manuscripts are Google Docs. As an editor, you can use the Commenter feature to suggest edits, add research, or make rewrites.

Trigger Warning: Many of the ideas in these books are politically incorrect. If you have strong sensitivities in discussions concerning stereotypes, criticism, humor, and ignorance, please be aware. We are looking for volunteers who support free and open discussion about issues that can often feel divisive in America and throughout the world.

Hedonisia Book Trilogy

These three non-fiction books are at various stages of completion. Volunteers can choose to work on any manuscript or all of them as there is overlapping content.

As a volunteer, you enjoy free access to the manuscripts:

  1. Talking Sh*t & Sugar: Free Speech, Sex, Culture & Humor in a Sensitive World
  2. Cougars for World Peace: Intergenerational Relationships that can Benefit Society
  3. Warrior WoMan: A Yin-Yang Path to Pleasure and Peace for the Planet

Choose the book(s) you'd like to work on and let us know in your application.

Reading & Editing. We welcome volunteers with experience either as non-fiction writers, critical thinkers, activists, and editors. Students and seniors are all welcome!

Our ideal volunteer is someone who cares about the world and has a politically incorrect sense of humor :)

Self Publishers. We also seek proofreaders and editors who can prepare our manuscripts for publication using one of the self-publishing platforms.

About Hedonisia Hawaii Creative Community

Location:

12-545 Molokai St, Pahoa, HI 96778, US

Mission Statement

Our community is based on the principle of 'pleasurable activism'. We try to do our bit to 'save the world' but also enjoy ourselves at the same time. It is why we call our community 'Hedonisia'. We have fun in paradise but are not blind to the world's problems. Though our physical community was destroyed in the 2018 Kilauea volcano eruption we continue our work online. In the Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Web Portfolio, we work on a portfolio of activist, ecofeminist and social entrepreneur projects with the assistance of volunteers from across the globe.

Description

Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was started in 2004 in the Hawaiian rainforest. Our community was based on ecofeminism and ecotourism as our social and economic foundations.

Though our community was small, the projects we work on have a global reach. We are idealist and pragmatic seeking entrepreneurial and creative solutions to various challenges we face in the world.

In 2018, Hedonisia Hawaii was destroyed by lava flow from the Kilauea volcanic eruption. Undeterred, we continue work on the many creative projects that were born at our pre-volcano community.

There is a one-acre green zone on the property, that did not get covered by lava. This is known as a Kipuka in the Hawaiian language. We are preparing to return to our land by slowly planting and landscaping on our Kipuka.

In the meanwhile, our community is now virtual. Over five hundred volunteers from around the world have worked on the various projects in the Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Portfolio.

We welcome you to be a volunteer on our virtual team choosing a project that resonates with you.
