Won't you lend your hand as a volunteer?

St. Joseph's House in Marysville, a community supported Clothing Bank offers free clothing and household items to ease the hardship of low-income families and individuals within Snohomish County.

Volunteers are needed to keep this operation going.

The House is open to the public on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Volunteers working these shifts would interview and/or help clients, sort clothes, receive and sort donations and fill racks.

Mondays and Wednesdays when the House is not open to the public, volunteers are needed to sort new donations, refill racks, tidy up and get ready for the next open day. You would do things like mark sizes, fill racks, organize containers and shelves, dust, vacuum and so on.

Hours for working with the public are;

Tuesday 10:30-noon and 1:00 - 5:00

Thursday 10:30-noon and 1:00-5:00

Saturday 9:30 - noon

Hours when the public is not present:

Monday 9:00-noon

Wednesday 10:00-noon

Mission Statement

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.

Description

RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
