If you have ever wondered just what the Odyssey of the Mind program is all about...this is your lucky day!
The Odyssey of the Mind program needs volunteer judges for its regional competition. Volunteers are the core of competition day, and it can't run smoothly, or at all, for that matter, without them! As a judge, you will be provided a day of invaluable training by an outstanding group of dedicated people. They'll even feed you lunch and throw in a free t-shirt.
Training is Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Beverly Woods Elementary School in Charlotte (6001 Quail Hollow Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 ). Competition for the Central NC Region is Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wingate University in Wingate, NC (Union County).
This is a great way to become involved with a unique and rewarding program, and it will only take TWO Saturdays of your time. Judging is also a great way for high school and college students who want to perform community service.
Judges must be at least 18 years old by March 9th, 2019. A judge can be your neighbor, co-worker, or relative. It’s also a great way for someone in a civic organization to help out the community.
If you are interested in stepping up to the OM plate on behalf of the 150 teams from throughout the Charlotte area, please contact me and you'll be on your way! You'll have fun, I promise!
If a two Saturday commitment is too much, please consider being a "volunteer" on the actual day of the competition, on Saturday, March 9, 2019. See the March 9th 2019 date on Volunteer Match to learn how to be a "volunteer" that day.
