Here's a great way to work with kids and make new friends while having a fantastic experience! Mercy Home's Friends First mentoring program matches adults one-on-one with at-risk kids all over Chicago. You will go on fun outings to parks, zoos, museums, etc. Join us for group events too! Mentors in our program are all ages and from all walks of life but are united by their concern for Chicago youth.

As a mentor you will receive training, ongoing support and encouragement through direct monthly contact with our staff so that you can build a meaningful mentoring friendship. We will take care to set up a compatible match between you and the child you will mentor, we'll notify you about fun free things to do and provide opportunities to connect with other mentors in the program through group activities.

Get started today! To become a Friends First Mentor please visit www.mercyhome.org/mentor for more information.

About Mercy Home for Boys & Girls

Location:

1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607, US

Mission Statement

Mercy Home offers youth who seek a new beginning hope and promise of a healthy and successful future, safety, respect and opportunities for growth.

Description

Mercy Home for Boys and Girls provides hurting, abandoned, and neglected youth with the resources they have lacked: a safe place to live, clothing, education, medical care, and counseling. Mercy's youth also receive valuable life skills to prepare them to one day live independently, to find and keep gainful employment, to attend college in many cases, and to develop healthy relationships. Mercy Home also has a prevention program: The Friends First mentoring program, which matches trained adult volunteer mentors with at-risk children for one year.
