Ride along in our truck and help staff pick up and deliver food. Food Runners are responsible for handling food safely, representing Food Gatherers to our food donors and recipients, following important personal safety rules and communicating with the staff food runner.
This is a great way to be involved in direct deliveries to the agencies we serve, and see where food comes from. It requires moderate lifting (up to 50lbs) and the ability to climb in and out of the truck every few minutes.
Please note that food run volunteers need to be 18 or older.
Shifts with the highest need are:
Mondays 12:30p-3:30p
Fridays 8:30a-11:30a and 12:30p-3:30p
Saturdays 8:30a- 11:30a

Description
Food Gatherers is the food rescue and food bank program for Washtenaw County (Ann Arbor and surrounding communities). We "rescue" food from local food businesses and distribute it to local programs serving those in need.
