The Multicultural Institute (MI) is dedicated "to accompany immigrants in their transition from poverty and isolation to prosperity and participation."
MI's Board of Directors is the leadership responsible for its visioning and development. The Board possesses overall fiduciary responsibility of MI and ensures it achieves its mission, measures its effectiveness, and carries out a successful capital campaign.
Typical Tasks and Duties: Attend and participate in at least 75% of its meetings a year. Make a financial contribution. The gift level may be commensurate with the individual capacity to give. Serve as ambassador to increase visibility and attract potential funders and, between 30 t0 45 volunteer hours per year:
- Approximately 16 to 20 hours of Board meetings per year.
- Approximately 6 to 12 hours of event attendance per year.
- Approximately 6 to 14 hours of committee work per year.
