In order for Good Shepherd Hospice to provide the very best care for our patients and their families, we require continuing education for our hospice volunteers and staff.
Do you have personal experience with hospice? Do you have a background in the medical world? Are you interested in learning about hospice and all of its facets from family dynamics & communication to spiritual concerns, pain control and grief & loss? Do you like sharing knowledge with others? Then please consider volunteering for hospice as an In-Service Progarm Volunteer.
The role of the Hospice In-Service Program Volunteer is to work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to put together and provide information for learning, to send out mailers to fellow volunteers on a monthly basis and to track volunteer participation.
The job can be done both at home and at either of the hospice offices during workday hours. You decide what works best for you.
Office Locations:
Kansas City, Missouri, 7611 State Line Rd.,

We will provide all the training and support you need to become skilled in the role of In-Service Program Volunteer. If you have always been interested in hospice and are interested in learning more and sharing your learning with others, we would love to have you become part of the Good Shepherd Hospice Team. The more informed all of us are, the more able we are to provide the best care ever for our patients and their families. You would play a key role in helping us to achieve that goal.

Mission Statement
Serving People With Compassion and Dignity
Description
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
Our History - 22 Years of Comforting and Serving
Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
