About

S eattle BrainWorks is a community based organization that offers support and skill building for individuals with traumatic brain injury. Participants are encouraged and assisted to fulfill their individual goals and pursuits in a safe and supportive community. BrainWorks offers vocational programs, independent living skill programs and personal and educational enrichment opportunities.

As a volunteer, you would help primarily with the enrichment aspect of our program. We are looking for people to lead classes/activities that would take place at a community center. Volunteers are encouraged to lead classes in which they have experience and/or interest. Some examples of enrichment opportunities are cooking classes, yoga, memory & attention strategies, book club, mindfulness, gardening, music, writing group, photography, blogging, etc.. Volunteers also work side-by-side with members to help them partcipate, learn and skill build.

No experience is necessary. Interest in brain injury and leadership skill is preferred.
