We are seeking new members for the following committees:
Family Support: Members provide support to families as they progress through the Habitat partner family process. A family support member answers the family's questions and encourages them throughout their time in the program. The relationship continues through the first year of home ownership and hopefully beyond.
Construction: Members guide and support the Project Manager and are responsible for the quality control of our construction policy recommendations. They will address work challenges such as: "green" building, maximizing lot potential, multi-family development, and warranty issues.
Faith Relations: Members develop relationships with churches in our service area and seek full involvement with each congregation in prayer, volunteering and funding.
Family Selection: Members review all applications, review credit reports, conduct home visits to consider substandard housing need, and recommend partner families to the Board of Directors. They meet as needed and conduct the quarterly information meetings.
Fund Development: The goal of this committee is to be focused on developing and monitoring the overall fundraising activities of the BHAHFH including: generating corporate sponsorships, identifying new funding sources, and recruiting leaders to assist with events.Public Relations/Events: The goal of this committee is to be responsible for media relations, website, newsletter, signage, public speaking, educational booth events etc. Also provide guidance with hands-on event coordination for: Habitat Christmas Concert, Shows, Expos, and new event ideas.
