ORGANIZATION: Arts in Prison, Inc.

How do you define yourself as an artist? Arts in Prison offers clsses in many art mediums. However it is you choose to express yourself artistically, you can help someone else develop the skill to do the same. Arts in Prison has ofered classes in painting, drawing, sculpting, photography, and mixed media. We could offer classes in leather work, woodwork, jewelry making or paper making. Our program goals are to help inmates develop self confidence, empathy, collaboration and decision making skills. All of this is possible through the practice of art. Arts in Prison, Inc. provides arts classes at correctional facilities in Lansing, Kansas and Johnson County, KS. We also sponsor concerts and art exhibits displaying the talents of those served by our classes.
