Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that partners with volunteers from the community to teach elementary students about their roles as individuals, workers and consumers, and to prepare middle/high school students for key economic and workforce issues they will face. JA's purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
As volunteers, you will use JA's fun and easy materials to talk to students for about 10 minutes and then lead them in a hands-on activity for the remainder of the 30-45 minute visit. Typically, volunteers will meet with his/her assigned class for five to seven weekly visits, depending on the grade level and program that you are teaching.
There are also JA-in-a-Day programs where the elementary curriculum is completed in one school day.
Get involved today and you will find the JA program volunteer experience very rewarding!
