Former foster youth, homeless women, formerly incarcerated women, survivors of gender-based violence - these are the populations we serve with our Financial Literacy programs, including Money 101.

After they have completed the 3 weekly Money 101 workshops, we offer our members monthly opportunities to bring their questions, problems, ideas and goals and get some ideas, information and guidance. Topics such as budgeting, best practices for using credit, how to increase their income, how to save, and more.

We are looking for a few good coaches who have a thorough understanding of, education in and/or experience with personal finance.

If you have the passion to support these women to build a strong and sound financial foundation for their lives, then we want to hear from you.

We are a vibrant team of volunteers! Come join us. Please email volunteers@5050leadership.org with your bio and a little about your background nd why you are drawn to this opportunity.

Mission Statement

50/50 Leadership is committed to Empowering, Educating, and Inspiring women from all walks of life to become Leaders in their careers and communities. Make a difference.

Description

Established in 2004, we provide financial literacy programs to young women who have grown up in foster care, been incarcerated, been unhoused, and/or survived gender-based violence. In the past, we led leadership training programs and honored women who are making a difference around the world.

We feel that every girl and woman should have the opportunity to realize their leadership potential. Whether they are a leader in their home, at work, school or in the community.

We are women and men from all walks of life who agree that leadership should reflect the gender of the population: women make up more than half of the U.S. population and should be equally included in boardrooms, elected offices, academia, and all public and private enterprises and endeavors.
