This is a position which includes maintaining and repairing the building and grounds, greeting and engaging with senior attendees, and assisting with Office Projects. Volunteers will enjoy working independently and with other volunteers, gardening outside and cleaning and tidying inside, as well as interacting regularly with our senior attendees. Volunteers can also become Volunteer Mentors for this position.

You are an important part of the Center. The Ballard NW Senior Center serves over 4,000 people a year with only 5 staff members. We are open Monday through Friday with additional special weekend events. Our programs focus on improving social, emotional, and physical well-being for individuals 50 years and older. Your work as a Building & Grounds Assistant directly affects our welcoming and safe environment.
You check in with the 1 st Floor Receptionist and talk with Bob. Throughout your shift you will receive training as needed, as well as feedback on your progress, and you are encouraged to ask questions. At the end of your shift you speak with Bob to confirm your next shift and proceed to the 1 st Floor Reception Desk to check out.
