Position: General Volunteer
Reports to: Volunteer & Member Manager
Location: Varies; special event, office, member's homes
Description: SFV General Volunteers provide companionship, assist with errands and work in member's homes, working one-on-one with members to provide assistance with activities of daily living. Further, volunteers may be assigned to assist at special events, workshops and classes in an administrative capacity, and at times act in a teaching capacity. For example, as a yoga or music instructor. Some examples of work general volunteers have engaged in include training seniors how to use technology like IPADS or Iphones, having weekly tea or visits with a member, assisting a member with grocery shopping, assisting a member hanging art in their home, just to name a few.
Qualifications: SFV training must be completed (including background check). Volunteers who teach workshops or classes must demonstrate their expertise (degrees, certificates, etc.)
Responsibilities and Duties: Varied; grocery shopping, driving to doctor's appointments, companionship, event help, anything non-medical.
Note: This is an ongoing opportunity so we will be recruiting volunteers on a continual basis
