Help us assist our neighbors and create a healthier community! Bilingual volunteers with Hmong/English, Somali/English or Spanish/English speaking skills are need to help us assist our neighbors and create a healthier community! We are looking for volunteers to provide blood pressure screenings and referrals in our lobby and at some community events. Volunteers who are at least 18 years of age and have a background as a CNA, MA, LPN, RN, PA or MD or are a student in these areas are preferred. Training will be provided.
Our current openings are Mondays 11:15am-3pm, Tuesdays 9am-12pm, Wednesdays 9am-12pm, Wednesdays 12pm-3pm, Thursdays 9am-12pm, and Thursdays 12-3pm. We ask that volunteers commit to a regularly-scheduled weekly shift for a minimum of 3 months.
The 3rd Tuesday of them month our Mobile Food Shelf visits the Metro Senior Center to serve Hmong elders with food and community health. The shift time is 8:15am-11:15am.
In the summer/fall we also have Produce Distribution/Outdoor Markets about every other Friday 8am-12pm. Bilingual skills are great to have (Hmong, Somali and Spanish languages), but not required for this event.

Description
NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is a comprehensive health and human services agency located in the heart of North Minneapolis. NorthPoint is comprised of two organizations: a community services nonprofit with a broad array of social and human services (NorthPoint Inc.); and a full service community health center (NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center) that includes medical, dental and behavioral health clinics. NorthPoint seeks to reduce health disparities, improve health outcomes, and enhance the overall quality of life for all residents of North Minneapolis by providing high quality medical, dental and behavioral health care, along with integrated social services such as its food shelf, housing resources and domestic violence services -- with respect, dignity and sensitivity to a culturally rich and ethnically diverse community.
