Volunteer Food Pantry Assistant

Tasks/Duties

- Greet donors & accept food donations

- Sort food items & package boxes for clients

- Greet clients, takes ticket, & determines # household members

- Gather/give out food allowed for household

- Unload trailer of food from various agencies

- Go with Pantry Supervisor to pick up food items

- Take out trash/cardboard items

- Special duties including such as packaging items for various client needs

- Keep pantry clean: sweep and mop at end of workday

Requirements

- Fulfills volunteer assignment on days as scheduled

- Able to lift boxes of food items & stock on shelves

- Ability to work with a variety of agency personnel including staff, volunteers, and applicants/recipients

- Willingness to be flexible & compassionate in ministry service delivery atmosphere

- Follows directions and adheres to volunteer policies & expectations
