Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that engages your heart mind and spirit in caring for others in your own community? Join the Willamette Valley Hospice Volunteer Team!

We are looking for Veteran to Veteran Volunteers - If you have served in the military or have a passion to support those that have we need you! Our new program supports our Veteran patients by visiting them, supporting them and helping us serve them. We will honor the patients with a military service as well.

Come join our caring family. We serve our patients in Marion and Polk Counties as well as Yamhill, Clackamas and Linn - So we are looking for volunteers in all areas!!

VOLUNTEER FOR THE ONLY NON PROFIT HOSPICE IN THE GREATER SALEM AREA!!

HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS ARE ORDINARY PEOPLE WITH EXTRAORDINARY LOVE!!

Our mission at Willamette Valley Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill persons and their families, to provide bereavement support for the caregivers and families of our patients and members of the community, and to educate the community about the hospice philosophy and prognosis.

Here are other ways you can support us!

PATIENT CARE
You can give respite to the family/caregivers of our patients. This is usually spending 3-4 hours per week the patient while the caregiver gets a break. You can also visit patients in facilities. This is usually 1 hour per week. You can read with patient, play board games with patients, or just simply sitting with a patient holding their hands.

BEREAVEMENT
You can assist families that have experienced a death of a loved one. You can telephone our bereaved families to give support, help co-facilitate our six week grief support groups for children and adults. You can help at our Memorials and help with our summer camp.

OUTREACH/COMMUNITY SUPPORT
You can help in the office with mailings, stuffing envelopes, gathering statistics, assisting with special projects, filing and data entry. You can also participate in our Speaker's Bureau which is going out and educating the community on hospice. Assisting with special events and fundraising.

OFFICE SUPPORT
We have many opportunities helping us in the office with mailings, packet assembly, data entry, phone calls and much more

YOUTH VOLUNTEERS
We ask that you are at least 16 years of age to have direct patient contact and at least 12 years old to help in the office or with special projects. We have many great opportunites for youth - Annual scholarships, community service, meet new people and much more.

PET THERAPY AND LIFE REVIEW
Volunteers can support our patients and family with Pet Therapy. There is additional certification required for this. We also offer Life Review. Which is helping our patients leave a life story for his/her family

SPECIAL PROJECTS VOLUNTEER
