ORGANIZATION: Meals on Wheels Diablo Region

We are looking for a positive, professional volunteer with good people skills and the desire to support Contra Costa County's very deserving senior population by providing our program with much needed office assistance in our Walnut Creek location. We are specifically looking for someone who is willing to volunteer on a long-term basis if possible as consistency will help our program to grow and still maintain solid support of our clients. The Friendly Visitors Program matches volunteers from our community with isolated seniors for the purpose of weekly, one-hour companionship visits. We are a non-profit program, headed by Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services, and in operation since 1977.

As a full-service organization, we are dedicated to addressing all of the needs of the seniors we serve. In addition to meal delivery, we provide exercise and fall prevention classes, home safety modifications, elder abuse prevention, and much more. Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is the only Meals on Wheels that delivers both meals and services to seniors in Contra Costa County. Thousands of people every year reach out to us for help.
