Be a Hero, Adopt a Hero... and help lift morale .
We give you all the ways to keep it easy and inexpensive. You can have friends help with items and letters and even postage as long as you maintain confidentiality. You also don’t need to send much because it’s the emotional support that matters
We have been doing this for 17 years now at the Homefront Hugs Foundation ...since 9-11. Our volunteers come back for more and they are the reason we shine in our national award winning adoption program .
By the way, employers count volunteer hours through legitimate charities like ours just like a job/work hours so keep track. We write references for teens and adults. Teens and college students can get volunteer credit too.
Do it with a friend,as a family, with your place of worship or business , with your students as a teacher,or with your social or sports club.
Our goal is to prevent the suicides, depression and isolation for hundreds who are onntheir first or 10() deployment. This is not political.
We know after 17 years at war, many of our troops are stressed and need to know they are not forgotten.
Sadly we are still losing 22-24 troops and veterans per DAY to emotional wounds ... to suicide. Your letters and simple care packages brighten spirits and lift morale just as they did in World War II . We call them Homefront Hugs and the reason we have this name ( Support from the Homefront as in WWII).
We are assigning within 72 hours now as the need is so great.
Thanks again for helping us make sure no hero is forgotten.
