Making a profound difference in people's lives when they need it the most is what we do at AccentCare Hospice. Join our team!
AccentCare volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. They have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for individuals who face a terminal illness and death.
Direct Patient Care Volunteers enrich the lives of patients by providing emotional support and companionship for the patient and their families. Volunteers can help in various ways through compassionate listening, reading, listening to music, helping patients make a legacy project, and more. Volunteers also help bring comfort to the family by being an understanding presence.
We serve patients residing in facilities and in their homes in the following counties: Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, North Fulton, Gwinnett, and Hall.
Direct Patient Care Volunteers will need to complete AccentCare Volunteer Training, have a valid driver's license, successfully pass a background check, and complete a TB Test. Background checks and TB Tests are paid for by Seasons.

Description
Hospice volunteers both give and receive many benefits from joining our program.
Volunteers set their own levels of commitment and travel based on their available time and the needs of our patients. Volunteers serve our adult patients of all ages who live within the metro Atlanta area.
Volunteer selection begins with an application and interview where potential volunteers may express their personal goals, availability, interests, and talents.
Volunteers are carefully screened through a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and personal references.
Direct Care Volunteers help by providing comfort, support, care, and compassion to our patients and their family members, and are required to participate in initial hospice volunteer training as well as basic orientation.
Indirect Care Volunteers help by providing administrative assistance on special projects that enhance the work of our staff and support patients, families and the efforts of the teams in the field. Indirect Care Volunteers receive basic orientation, training specific to task undertaking, and are encouraged to attend initial hospice volunteer training.Additional support meetings and educational opportunities are offered throughout the year as well as ongoing personal support and social gatherings.
