Discovery Home Care Inc., a nonprofit agency, operates a 24 hour emergency shelter for youth.
now have two location in Charlotte NC, Gastonia NC, DHC provides a secure and safe residential environment for youth aged 6 - 18 who are homeless, abused, neglected or transient. We are in
search of Volunteers for the shelter.

Our mission is to provide safe accommodations and comprehensive supplemental services to youth displaced by homelessness and transience. Our
organizational values encompass a strength-based person approach that recognizes the strengths and unique attributes of our clients. Our concept is
to meet our youth clients "where they are", accepting and embracing their own indigenous cultural beliefs and practices, acting only in a capacity of assistance, not judgment.

The ideal candidates will be passionate about working
with youth and can dedicate at least one evening/ week to working in small groups with youth residing in the Emergency Shelter. Your ideas will help to
form the program, so we are seeking a team of volunteers who are ready to share their skills!

Volunteer must have confidentiality
when working with youth.

Volunteers will lead evening activities in the Emergency Youth Shelter on Monday and Thursday nights. Activities for youth will include homework
assistance, creating a safe space to socialize and play games, plan group projects, coordinate special speakers and activities. The program will also
include monthly field trips to give teens a break from the shelter and create positive learning experiences, which volunteers will help to lead as well
