The volunteer program is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the zoo. Volunteer responsibilities include: cleaning, feeding, animal care, enrichment, administrative tasks, landscaping, and much more. This position requires outdoor work in very hot temperatures, rain or shine, and the ability to do manual labor.

This program does NOT include DIRECT CONTACT with the potentially dangerous animals residing at our facility!

DIRECT Contact is defined as any physical contact with any animal, including contact through cage wire (reaching of limbs through gate openings, chain link), etc.

These animals are not pets. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that offers direct contact with animals, we suggest you consider working with domestic animals. However, if you can respect the no contact rule, this is still a very rewarding experience.
