The volunteer program is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the zoo. Volunteer responsibilities include: cleaning, feeding, animal care, soliciting donations, administrative tasks, educational tours, offsite events, landscaping, and much more.
This program does NOT include DIRECT CONTACT with the potentially dangerous animals residing at our facility!
DIRECT Contact is defined as any physical contact with any animal, including contact through cage wire (reaching of limbs through gate openings, chain link), etc.
These animals are not pets. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that offers direct contact with animals you should consider working with domestic animals.
