Making phone calls to our bereaved family members is very beneficial to both our families and our staff members. We follow each family for 13 months after their loved one passed away to ensure they have all the support they need. Bereavement volunteers call these family members to see how they are doing, if they need bereavement follow up from a Seasons' team member, making them aware of our monthly support groups and yearly memorial service.
The volunteer receives a monthly list of family members to call at the beginning of each month. The volunteer has all month to make these calls. Currently we make phone calls to families 1 month, 6 months, and 12 months after their loved one passed away.
Seasons Hospice will train you on how to make the phone calls, what to expect when you call, and other pertinent information to be successful at this.
