Here at SkyWatch Bird Rescue we serve any sort of wild bird in need of help. From orphaned and helpless baby birds to injured raptors to ailing seabirds, it is our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release any wild bird in need.

SkyWatch Bird Rescue is in need of volunteers age 18 & up. There are many ways to help rescue injured and orphaned birds, even if you prefer not to work hands-on with birds. SkyWatch is looking for folks to help with all sorts of tasks that are crucial to our mission: daily chores of feeding, cage cleaning, medicating etc, fundraising, hotline work, baby bird feeding and the capture & transport of injured birds. You can also work hands-on with the birds if you prefer, learning how to raise orphan baby birds for release back to the wild, assist with captures, or learning how to care for many different type of birds. Skywatch rescues birds like: Waterfowl, Aquatic/Wading birds, Songbirds, Shore birds, Raptors/& other birds of prey, and many more.

The more volunteers we have, the more SkyWatch can grow and serve the injured and ailing wild birds in need of help. So many birds are injured every day and animal control cannot take in wildlife. There is no paid organization or funded service that helps injured wild birds in Wilmington, so it's up to the public to help the birds by getting involved with a legally licensed rehabilitation facility to rescue birds on a non-profit group based effort. There are so many different ways to help. Get involved and find out how many easy ways you can make a difference. You can help as much or as little as you like, working hands-on with the birds or helping them right from home. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have - we look forward to hearing from you! Visit our website and fill out a volunteer form.
