Join CMA volunteers and staff as we welcome 4,000 school children a week to our beach and teach them about the animals and habitats of our local Southern California ocean. Volunteers will be trained as docents providing school children with information about the ocean and conducting related activities at Cabrillo Beach and adjacent grass areas.QUALIFICATIONS include an affinity for the outdoors; a desire to learn about the ocean, marine animals and the ocean environment; and an interest in children. Docents are asked to commit to work one morning per week from 9:00 am to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, from April 4th through June 9th. Training sessions will be conducted on Monday, February 13th and Monday, March 20th; 9:00am to 12:30pm. New volunteers are required to attend booth sessions.
