Helping Horse offers volunteers an opportunity to work with disabled riders of all ages who are truly inspiring, handle outstanding horses and interact with others. Classes are scheduled Saturday (10am-noon), Sundays (4 pm-6 pm), Mondays (6 pm-8 pm), and Tuesdays (6 pm-8 pm) Our new season will begin on August 27th and 28th with volunteer orientation, new volunteers can start at any time during the season after attending an orientation the first of every month. We do ask that volunteers commit for the entire season/remaining season for the consistency of our riders (understanding things come up from time to time) Help is needed tacking and leading horses as well as side walking with disabled riders. Volunteers must be able to walk for up to 2 hours (very moderate) and must be 18 years of age (14-17y.o. may be considered after an evaluation) Volunteers will attend an orientation and training class. Please wear "barn clothes" and closed toe shoes. We ask that interested volunteers send an e-mail to volunteer@helpinghorse.org with the following information: your name, contact phone number and which class night works best in your schedule. We look forward to a fantastic season!
