Volunteer to become an operator for Illinois Legal Aid Online’s renowned LiveHelp Program. Volunteers help website users of www.IllinoisLegalAid.org obtain legal information by providing navigation assistance and legal referrals via instant messaging.
This is a great opportunity to learn while helping others. LiveHelp volunteers learn how legal matters affect everyday people and provide chat assistance to people-in-need. Volunteers are typically law students, but may also be paralegal students, retired attorneys, and anyone with a dedicated interest in the law and serving the public.
As a LiveHelp Operator, you’ll receive training, supervision, and continued support. No prior legal knowledge or experience is necessary. Feel free to sign up and volunteer as much or as little as you can!
The best part is that it can be done from any computer with internet access, making it a flexible resume-boosting opportunity that can accommodate virtually any schedule.
In addition, you must have English language proficiency and a stable internet connection. No exceptions.
Email resume and any questions you may have to Fasharra at livehelp@illinoislegalaid.org.
