  • 50 people are interested

We are looking for individuals to help organize donation drives within their local communities to collect school supplies for Passaic County children in foster care served by our organization. Items may include but are not limited to new backpacks, notebooks, binders, folders, calculators, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, rulers, pencil cases, erasers, loose leaf paper, printer/copy paper, highlighters, index cards, colored pencils, sketch books, glue sticks, saftey scissors, bottled glue, marble composition books, 3 and 5 subject notebooks, etc.

We are ALWAYS in need of educational items to continue to assist abused and neglected children to achieve their best in school. Once in foster care, these children do not have parents to advocate and provide for their basic needs such as school supplies.

Get involved within your local community! You can set up a donation drive in your school, library, church, gym, religious organiztion, etc. We will provide you with brochures about the CASA program.

Great project for teens or those looking for service hours for Girl Scout, Boy Scout projects, Bar/Bat Mitzvah's, Confirmation, etc.

About CASA of Passaic and Union Counties

Location:

415 Hamburg Turnpike, Suite D2, Wayne, NJ 07470, US

Mission Statement

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Passaic and Union Counties is an independent, non-profit organization that champions the best interests of children involved in the child welfare system. CASA volunteers serve as a child's advocate in court and are committed to ensuring that needed services and assistance are made available to children in need.

Description

Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes.

That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child has an individual advocate to speak for them in court.

It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
