Be a compassionate advocate for an elderly person living in a group or nursing home by serving as a court-appointed Guardian in our Guardianship Assistance Program (GAP). The elderly person is unable to make informed decisions due to mental impairment and has no family or friends to help them. As a court-appointed Guardian, you would: Provide the comfort of human contact by visiting person twice a month to check on health and well-being; Make decisions, including medical, in person's best interest; Advocate for person's needs; Attend quarterly educational meetings; Complete quarterly reports for GAP.
