Groups and individuals are welcome to come help us distribute food one Saturday morning each month. This is an excellent project for families with children ages 12 and above.
Share Hampton Roads is a community building organization that offers nutritious food packages at discounted rates. Each value food package(purchased through a food co-op) is worth approximately $35-$40, but can be purchased for $20 and two hours of volunteer service of your choice (honor system)
SHARE Hampton Roads relies on the help of its volunteers to process(pick and pack) SHARE Value Package food orders. Volunteers are needed to ensure that the orders are processed/packaged correctly. This distribution takes place in Hampton and Virginia Beach.

Description
Virginia Peninsula Foodbank serve individuals and families who reside in the cities and counties of Hampton, Newport News, York, Poquoson, James City Country, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Mathews, and Surry. The Foodbank is a member of Feeding America, and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks. The Foodbank receives and distributes food in collaboration with over 200 member agencies and programs to include faith based organizations, soup kitchens, food pantries and other organization that share our mission of minimizing hunger. These member agencies do what they do best feed the most vulnerable . . . the hungry.
