This is what it's all about -- moving forward.

Tutor adults in reading, writing, math, computer and workplace skills. Students and tutors are currently meeting virtually. We offer training and ongoing support for Zoom tutoring. We will resume in-person tutoring as health and safety allow.

The mission of Literacy Pittsburgh (formerly Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council) is to ensure that adults and families acquire reading, writing, math, English language, computer skills and workforce skills so they may reach their fullest potential in life and participate productively in their community.


Literacy Pittsburgh is a national leader in adult and family literacy. Literacy Pittsburgh has been providing a wide range of educational programs to adults and families throughout Allegheny County for 30 years. Now also including Beaver County, we serve our students and volunteers through regional neighborhood offices, our Beaver County office, and our Pittsburgh Downtown Center.
