Volunteers needed to help with daily operations at The Children's Advocacy Center.

Volunteer advocates are needed to work with the children and families we serve at the CAC. Advocates are responsible for greeting children and their family members and create a safe environment for them. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing referrals and resources to children and their family members and help facilitate interaction between multi-disciplinary team members.

Mission Statement

The Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to using a multi-disciplinary team approach to assist children who are victims of physical or sexual abuse, or who have witnessed acts of violence, as well as providing these services to people of any age with developmental disabilities. All services will be provided in a supportive environment by individuals trained in national best practices to optimize positive outcomes and reduce trauma.

Description

The CAC uniquely provides: *child-friendly facility *professionally-recorded and conducted child forensic interviews (interviews are also provided for developmentally-delayed or other special needs children or adults) *medical coordination *mental health referrals *support & advocacy *multi-agency team intervention, case review and follow-up By appointment only through mandated child abuse reporting agencies: -Law Enforcement -Department of Children & Family Services -District Attorney's Office -Dependency Court -Other law enforcement partners
