Youcan make a difference in the life of a child! Mentor a child in our school-based Mentor Program in the Renton School District. There are many students waiting for a Mentor who need your help right now!

One hour of your time once a week will bring consistency, support and stability to a child’s life

We are currently seeking Mentors for the 2018-2019 School year .

Description

THE MENTOR'S ROLE
The Mentor's main purpose is to be a consistent caring adult who helps the student define individual goals and find ways to achieve them. By sharing fun activities and exposing the student to new ideas, Mentors encourage positive choices, promote self - esteem and support academic achievement .

WHO WE SUPPORT
The program focuses on students who could benefit from extra attention and encouragement . A referred student may exhibit risk factors for dropping out of school such as poverty, failing grades, absenteeism, high mobility, disengagement from school or low self -esteem.

BECOME INVOLVED
There are many students currently waiting for a Mentor. If you are ready to spend 1 hour a week to bring consistency, support and stability to make a lasting difference in a student 's life, we would love to hear from you. Students are mentored once a week for an hour during the school-day.
