Our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide care and comfort to families within the hospital where their children are receiving treatment. Volunteers enable us to serve our families directly at the hospital, while keeping them close to their children.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with hospital staff to ensure we are providing the best care and support for our families.
- Ensure our records and data are accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain the Family Room, ensuring it’s clean and stocked for families.
- Process family check-ins and check-outs for our sleeping rooms.
- Communicate needs of the Family Room to Hospital Programs staff.
- Assist families staying in the Family Room as needed.
Hospital Health Screening Requirements:
- Full vaccination or proof of infection for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Full vaccination or proof of infection for Varicella (Chicken Pox)
- TDap vaccine within previous 10 years
- Up-to-date flu vaccination
- Blood TB test within past 90 days
- Drug test
3 Shifts
- 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM
- 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM
- 05:00 PM to 09:00 PM

Description
The Central Texas Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide a comforting "home-away-from-home" for families to stay so they can fight their child’s illness or injury together. Our Happy Wheels Carts stroll the hospital hallways bringing complimentary items to families waiting by their child’s hospital bedside. RMHC CTX also supports families who have lost a child through the Healing Hearts program, which provides burial assistance and bereavement support.
