The Queens Branch of Dress for Success needs your time, enthusiasm and expertise!
Dress for Success is a volunteer-driven organization and depends on the support of the community to deliver our programs and services to disadvantaged women. Without volunteers, we simply would not be able to fulfill our mission.
The Queens Branch of Dress for Success is looking for:
Volunteers can work one-on-one with a Dress for Success client to help her select her professional attire and to provide support and encouragement as she prepares for her interviews. Once a woman becomes employed, she returns to Dress for Success for additional clothing to help her build a working wardrobe. Volunteers assist with this second visit as well, ensuring that women choose items that can be mixed and matched to create several outfits appropriate for the workplace. Personal shopping is an enjoyable and rewarding way to boost women's confidence and make a direct impact on our clients lives.
Career Center Specialists
Working with the Career Center program gives volunteers the opportunity to: support our clients in their job searches; review and edit resumes; help write cover letters; and offer interview tips. Career Center volunteers meet with Dress for Success clients in the affiliates office at various times during the week and on Saturdays. Assisting a woman as she continues her professional growth and development is a fulfilling and valuable experience.
