Help defend the potential of Butler County youth, and help to conquer the isolation youth are feeling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister!
Community-Based Mentors ("Bigs") meet with youth ("Littles") 2 to 4 times a month, for a couple of hours at a time. These meetings are on days and at locations that are mutually convenient for the Big, the Little, and the Little's parent/guardian. When they meet, Bigs and Littles engage in free or low-cost activities in the community that are enjoyable to both, and that enable a supportive mentoring relationship to grow and thrive. During the pandemic, these meetings can take place virtually.
No special skills are required to be a mentor. You just need to be honest, trustworthy, and care about youth. While we welcome all applicants, we have a particularly need for male mentors.
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth, primarily through a professionally supported, one-to-one relationship with a caring adult volunteer and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent, and caring individuals.
Big Brothers Big Sisters matches promising, energizing children with spirited adult mentors who provide friendship by broadening horizons and sharing the magic of everyday moments.
