Make a difference in a girl's life by becoming a mentor. Latinitas is accepting applications for After-School Club Assistants. We offer meaningful and fulfilling experience to help local girls by serving as mentor for girls enrolled in our program. Latinitas is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Hispanic girls through media, art, culture and technology. We host enrichment programs where girls build confidence through creative expression. The group executes its mission by publishing a bilingual webzine by and for Latina girls, facilitating an after-school clubs, mentoring girls and hosting innovative media workshops in the community. We implement an innovative educational program focused on teaching girls fun ways to express themselves through writing, photography, graphic design, film-making, radio production, and web design. Volunteers are needed to assist Club Leaders during the after-school clubs. Each club has a group of 10-15 Hispanic girls in grades 4th-8th.

Description
To encourage girls to build confidence and express themselves, we offer an innovative series of workshops, mentor projects, after-school clubs, and camps aimed at promoting media awareness and participation among Hispanic girls. Throughout these programs we offer fun and engaging lessons on media awareness, Latino culture, writing, editing, journalism, art, desktop publishing, film, radio, web design, and photography. Girls in our program build confidence and learn creative ways to express themselves. Our members an empowering online bilingual magazine by and for young women (www.LatinitasMagazine.org) focused on informing, entertaining, and inspiring young Latinas to grow into healthy, confident, and successful Latinas.
