Youth in Focus’ mission is to empower youth, through photography, to experience their world in new ways and to make positive choices for their lives. Adult, volunteer mentors assist our Teaching Artists directly in the classroom.
NEEDED: Adult Photography Mentors (black & white darkroom and digital)
DATES & TIMES: Mondays/Wednesdays OR Tuesdays/Thursdays- Fall Quarter will be October - November, Winter Quarter will be January 2020 - March 2020
- Classes are twice a week from 4:30pm - 7pm
Mentors in the Digital Photography classes need to be comfortable using Adobe Lightroom, and using the manual settings of point-n-shoot digital cameras.
Mentors in the Black & White Photography classes need to be comfortable using 35mm film cameras, processing film by hand, and printing photos in a darkroom.

We put cameras in the hands of youth and place them in a challenging environment surrounded by high quality talented teachers, nurturing adult volunteer mentors, and create a strong community of support. Through photography our students find their voice, identity, creativity, and gain new confidence in their worth and abilities.
