ORGANIZATION: Fresno County Public Library - Kerman Branch Library

Adult Literacy Photo

  • Give the gift of literacy to an adult learner
  • Tutor an adult learner one-on-one in reading, writing, spelling or math
  • Extensive assortment of educational materials available for tutoring session, free of charge
  • On-going information and consultation as needed
  • Volunteer shift varies based on learner between 30 - 60 minutes in timeframes to follow:
  • Volunteer shift: M-W 10:00am - 4:30pm
  • Volunteer shift: Thurs 12:00pm - 6:30pm
  • Volunteer shift: Fri 1:00pm - 3:30pm
  • Volunteer shift: Sat 10:00am - 12:30pm
  • Submit monthly reports on hours tutored, progress and challenges
  • Maintain contact with Literacy Services Center regarding student needs, concerns, questions, etc.

Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
