The mission of Canal Alliance is to help low-income, Spanish-speaking immigrants acquire the tools they need to thrive. We accomplish this through our wraparound strategy which is designed to help people overcome barriers to the acquisition of the skills to thrive. This process involves recognizing the diverse skills immigrants already possess, resolving immediate needs or problems, identifying opportunities for growth, and monitoring their progress toward goals. Canal Alliance believes that when extremely low-income immigrants acquire the right skills and abilities they can overcome poverty and build a pathway to success as new Americans.
Our dynamic four person development team is responsible for raising $2.2 million dollars annually. Funds are raised through various types of communications engaging individuals, private foundations and sustainable businesses. Our team is seeking well-rounded assistants eager to learn the basics of non-profit fundraising through direct experience. You will gain a strong understanding of the fundamentals of fundraising here at Canal Alliance and the ways in which we cultivate long-term relationships with our donors. This is a great résumé enhancer for anyone interested in development, marketing, public relations, and fundraising!
Responsibilities: Research, Database Maintenance, and Data Entry
Time Commitment: 1 shift per week, 2-4 hours per shift during regular office hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Skills: Detail-oriented with a positive sense of humor, strong English language grammar and punctuation, proficient with Google Docs and MS Office, Salesforce experience preferred but not required.
