Volunteers respond quickly to traumatic incidents at the request of law enforcement, fire and hospital personnel to offer emotional support and practical resources to survivors, family members, witnesses, friends and bystanders. Volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support those in need following an unexpected death or injury, suicide, overdose, motor vehicle accident, fire, sexual assault or other tragic event. Trauma Intervention Program of Orange County is committed to helping emotionally traumatized persons in their time of greatest need. We strongly believe that no person should be alone immediately following a traumatic incident.

Description

The Trauma Intervention Program of OC (TIP OC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which utilizes well trained citizens to provide emotional and practical support to survivors of tragic events. TIP volunteers are dispatched by fire, law enforcement and hospital personnel to emergency scenes throughout our coverage area in Orange County.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Three 12 hour shifts per month.
  • Valid driver’s license, working vehicle, proof of insurance, cell phone, internet, GPS. Current resident of Orange County, CA. Attend mandatory monthly CE meeting on 2nd Wednesday of month. Complete fingerprinting and pass criminal background check.
