The Senior Police Partner's (SPP's) are trained to assist fellow seniors in the area of crime prevention and grief counseling. Additionally, they are trained to recognize situations where the senior could benefit from outside assistance from any of several senior-related resource providers. There are many public and private agencies that provide services to senior citizens, some of which are at no charge. The SPP's guide these senior through the sometimes overwhelming process of getting back on track to a healthy and fulfilling life. In addition, the SPP's provide crime prevention education to the general public and help make Long Beach a better place.

Description
The Long Beach Jewish Community Center was established in August, 1948. Expanding to meet the growth of the Center and its members, a campaign from the Jewish Federation was established in 1956 to build a new center at the present location. Ever expanding growth of the JCC resulted in the need for yet a bigger building. On September 28, 1997 the Center celebrated the first formal groundbreaking ceremony. The new Alpert Jewish Community Center on the Weinberg Jewish Federation Campus opened in December 2000.
