Monrovia & Pasadena Food Distribution: Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:
Food service is one of the many ways that we help our neighbors in need, which is why the warehouse is constantly needing volunteers to maintain the cycle of donations of food that come into the warehouse every day. As well as food going out of the warehouse during food distributions that happens three times weekly.
Whenever you’re ready to join us, stop by!Walk-in volunteers are welcome!
Any amount of volunteer hours is needed!
Applications: are available at the front desk.
Orientation: On your first visit with us in 2022, we will meet so that I can introduce the newly adapted food distribution program before we get started with volunteering in the warehouse. This meeting should be no longer than an hour. Walk-ins welcome!
Monrovia Location: Tuesday - Friday Any time between 8:00am - 4:30pm,
Pasadena Location:Mondays Any time between 8:00am - 4:30pm
Ask the front desk for Elyssa and we will go from there!
What to Expect After Orientation: Both Locations warehouses are open to volunteers Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Volunteers are to sign in at the front desk then report to food services staff to get started with warehouse tasks.
What an Average Week at FUCI Looks Like:
Monrovia Location:
Monday: Food distribution 12:30pm - 3:30pm (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)
Tuesday: Sorting / packing food 8am - 4:30pm
Wednesday: Food distribution 8:30am - 11:30am (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)
Thursday: Sorting/ packing food
Friday: Food distribution 8:30am - 11:30am (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)Parking: No street parking on Thursdays. Please wrap around the building and Park in the Back Parking lot.
Attire: Comfortable closed toed shoes. Volunteers should not wear tank tops or revealing clothing. Loose clothing can be a safety hazard.
Pasadena Location:
Monday: sorting / packing food
Tuesday: Food distribution 8:30am - 11:30am (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)
Wednesday: Food distribution 8:30am - 11:30am (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)
Thursday: sorting/ packing food
Friday: Food distribution 8:30am - 11:30am (sorting packing food & distributing to cars)

Description
The Center acts as a lifeline for very low-income individuals and families who are struggling to survive. Clients are often unemployed, employed at wages too low to provide for their families, on welfare, or facing a temporary crisis. It also serves seniors, homeless, disabled, emancipated foster youth, victims of domestic violence, and students on limited incomes.
We provide critical support, in the form of food, heath services and crisis referrals to very low-income families and individuals in crisis. We work with other agencies to provide long-term shelter, counseling, medical, educational, employment and other assistance.
